Sean Garrett practices architecture in Denver with the fundamental conviction that the quality of one’s environment directly affects the experience of living. Born in Chicago, Sean grew up near the Indiana shores of Lake Michigan. He holds a five-year B.Arch. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and he studied art & architecture in Rome, Italy. A member of the American Institute ofArchitects and the U.S. Green Building Council, Sean sits on the Design Council’s Board of Directors for the Department of Architecture, Design & Graphics at the Denver Art Museum.
In a manner that's both fun and educational, Sean distills the abstract concept of architecture to its essential components and makes it accessible to the uninitiated. Students develop their powers of observation and become increasingly conscious of the environments they inhabit. Collaborative exercises challenge students to be responsible to each other and to their community, and students learn that while architecture is not fine art, we all benefit from artfully designed buildings and cities.
