For over 15 years, life-lover Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer has enjoyed sharing ways to use poetry as a vehicle to play, to find our unique voices, and to plumb the mysteries of the world. Her books and recordings include: Insatiable: Poems, The Christmas Candle Book: Poems of Light, The Nature of Love and If You Listen, which won the Colorado Independent Publishers Award. Her work is featured in Geography of Hope: Poets of Colorado’s Western Slope and numerous literary journals. A passion for language led to a master’s degree in English Language & Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. She is the poet advisor for the Colorado Online Poetry Project and directs the Telluride Writers Guild. In 2006, she was named San Miguel County’s first poet laureate. With electricity and encouragement, Rosemerry creates a playful and safe workshop environment where education can meet self-discovery.

“The students loved Rosemerry. I thought several were going to jump out of their seats. They’re still talking about it. They see me in the hall and beg me to ask her back. They went away wanting to write and perform—they were in a poetry trance.”

—Julie Cummings, Teacher, Falcon Creek Middle School
