Maria Morley is a sculptor of ideas, working predominately in clay. She is a 2007-2008 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts/Colorado Council on the Arts Grant. She founded Morley Clay in 1992 and later received her Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture and ceramics from Instituto Allende, the Art School of he University of Guanajuato in Mexico.
Maria has traveled, worked and studied in various countries, including England, Australia, New Zealand, India and Mexico. These travels have informed her artistic sensibilities, rounded her creative scope and enhanced her appreciation of cultural and environmental diversity. She is currently at work in her studio, Morley Clay, in Summit County, Colorado.
