Mr. Lou Malandra's journey as an artist begins in the first grade in the All Saints Play, St. Brendan School, 1956, Youngstown, Ohio, as St. Anthony of Padua. From that moment on stage Mr. Malandra has pursued a career in the arts that has taken him to theaters, colleges, and universities, high schools, middle and elementary schools across America. From playing the clarinet, to writing and producing his original plays and poetry through his College and Graduate School Education, Mr. Malandra has enjoyed a wonderfully distinguished career in the arts. Lou toured the country for fourteen years in his own one man play, A Stranger on the Earth, the life of Vincent van Gogh as seen through the eyes of his brother, Theo. Currently, Mr. Malandra works on his book, An Ordinary Child's Drama, and records and plays concerts with his Trio, PoeJazz, the harmonic union of poetry and jazz. Mr. Malandra's trio has played and performed workshops in poetry and music in schools across Colorado. Presently, Mr. Malandra teaches writing at Metropolitan State College in Denver, and raises his wonderful sixteen year old son, Anthony.
