Lisa Zimmerman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Colorado State University and received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous magazines including Redbook, Colorado Review, The Sun, and Atlanta Review. She has published two poetry chapbooks including Traveling Among the Animals (Pudding House, 2002). In 2004 she won the Violet Reed Haas Poetry Award for her full-length collection How the Garden Looks From Here. She has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Lisa has taught writing workshops from K-12 in many Colorado schools. She currently teaches composition and creative writing at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She lives with her family beside a small lake in north Fort Collins.
