Jo Fitsell has taught art and developed integrated art curriculum for all ages, from preschool to high school. She has worked for Denver Public Schools, the Art Students League, and Art Street. Her rich and vibrant fiber pieces can be seen at Translations Gallery in Denver, as well as in many medical offices, homes and office buildings.
Rewarding collaborations with young people have included making a colorful, abstract wall hanging for the Denver District Attorney’s office; creating props and backdrops for theatre performances; creating paper and fabric collage murals for public school buildings and a batik and marbled project for The Children’s Hospital Clinic in Littleton.
“The experience of bringing out and rewarding creativity which has been underfed and hiding is pure joy.”
