Jan Marino is the author of seven critically acclaimed novels for young people including Eighty-eight Steps to September (Alabama State Award), The Day That Elvis Came To Town, (SLJ Best Book, ALA Notable, New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age), Searching for Atticus, and Write Me A Happy Ending. She is currently working on Things Invisible To See. Jan studied at Hofstra University and The New School in New York. She taught writing at Long Island University, and has served as a mentor at Rutgers University. She has taught writing workshops at the elementary, junior high, and high school level, and has presented workshops to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, The Writer's Voice, and The Barbara Bush Literacy Council.
