Elisabeth Hyde is the author of the critically acclaimed novel Crazy As Chocolate (MacAdam/Cage). "Like Anne Tyler, Hyde captures the quirky, heartbreaking core of a character and puts it on the page with shining prose"(Publishers Weekly). She has published two other novels and is currently at work on a fourth. Since joining Young Audiences in 1999, she has worked throughout the state with students of all ages, leading workshops that focus on character development, point of view, descriptive detail, and
dialogue. In 2000 and 2001 she was a teaching artist with the Aesthetic Education Institute of Colorado; she has taught at the college level and, in the far distant past, practiced law with the U.S. Department of Justice. Currently she lives in Boulder with her husband and three children.
