Ricki Harada ~ RIX's Style Progressive Hip Hop Dance Culture

Hip Hop A La Carte

This dynamic performance lets the audience explore the roots of hip-hop and its related forms like jazz and street dance, gymnastics, and Brazilian marshal arts. Each dancer demonstrates their own specialized free-style which leads into original hip-hop dance choreography that includes well-known music video choreography. This high-energy performance includes audience participation, learning popular moves such as the “moon walk” and even more audience participation in the finale to celebrate today’s hip-hop culture! Students will learn that hip-hop brings many cultural forms of movement together, like “mime” from France, Brazilian “Capeola”, and gymnastics famous in Russia and China, and Belly Dance from the Middle East.

Introduction To Hip-Hop Dance

In this workshop, students will dance to their favorite music while learning original dance routines or music video dance choreography. Learn moves like the “moon walk” and the “body wave” and includes “breaking” just for kids! This workshop is 1 hour in length and can be done with up to 30 students.
