Michael Friedman Jazz

Michael leads an energetic jazz quartet of accomplished musicians through an engaging concert that will get you moving! From blues to swing, be-bop to fusion and funk, even modern interpretations of classic children’s songs, this performance features vocals, keyboard, bass, and drums. With a few simple instructions, audience members will get to scat sing with the band or join in with percussion instruments. Leave your inhibitions at the door!

Single Workshop Experience: Jazz Workshop

In this workshop, the only original American art form is performed and explained by award winning bassist, composer and educator, Michael Friedman and his Quartet. The group will share their valuable knowledge from over 100 years of combined experience in performing, arranging, touring and teaching. Students will find out about the creative process of improvisation and learn about music as a business.
