 Adventure in Reading
Join Mark Hellerstein as Willy the Worm takes kids on an "Adventure in Reading" where they not only explore how reading opens up a world of learning, but also why reading is important. They also learn about "classics" and how to use their imagination. A highlight is when Willy tells them a hilarious "fractured" version of a story he has just read. By using their imagination, kids literally cause a drawing to come to life right before their eyes.

Adventure in Ventriloquism
Students in grades two through six will love an “Adventure in Ventriloquism” as kids take a time machine into the past and travel to Dr. Frankenstein’s castle where Mark and friends recreate the famous experiment. Not only do kids participate in the program, but Mark uses ventriloquism to produce special sound effects and surprises. Kids will learn how this classic story teaches you to treat others with respect and to pick your friends carefully.

Puppets and Things on Strings
Students in grades K-4 love Little Willy Worm, the Bookworm, as he narrates "Jack and the Beanstalk" with the help of a full-stage marionette puppet production with music and song. Kids love to participate in the melodrama style story. Kids will also meet Pansy, a lovable baby chimpanzee. Not only is she funny, but kids will help her in singing songs.

Health and Fitness A unique melodrama program featuring four characters, including our favorite dog hero, Healthy Habits. His arch enemy is that dastardly fiend Fraud Freely who owns a company called Bad Health. His company makes and sells products that are bad for you like drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and bad foods. What do we say to drugs and alcohol? "NO" What do we say to cigarettes? "NO" What do we say to bad foods? "NO" And what do we say when we see Fraud Freely doing something we don't like? "BOO". Belle leaves clues along the way to defeat Fraud, such as "F" which stands for food, fun and fitness will give you the strength to defeat Fraud Freely. Whenever Healthy Habits comes to the aid of Belle, the kids yell "Yeah! Healthy Habits!" In the end the clues spell out the way to defeat Fraud -- FITNESS. It is original, great fun and educational.

Puppets and Ventriloquism
This 2 hour workshop teaches students about different types of puppets and how to become a ventriloquist. Ventriloquism combines many art forms: theatre, comedy, acting, storytelling, and melodrama. Students will make a puppet with a moving mouth.
