Kusogea Nobi Drum Ensemble



A Journey of Drums, Percussion and Song

The Kusogea Nobi Drum Ensemble traces the roots of traditional drumming by performing various styles from Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the U.S.
Experience the dynamic rhythmical arrangements and unique blend of voices with Bob, Pamela, and Chelle, who have 16 years of intensive studying together. This very inter-active performance features a Shaker Dancer and an original Kusogea Nobi choreographer. These members continue to propagate and educate communities throughout Colorado.

Single Performance: $595

Workshop: Language of African Drums                       

This one hour workshop teaches students the ABC's of traditional drumming. By learning the drum “Alphabet” (bass, tone and slap), students will realize that learning to drum is not unlike learning to read and write. Math, phrasing, punctuation, brain stimulation, history and geography are all incorporated into this workshop. Through hands-on participation, students will learn that drumming is related to many daily activities in school and life. Up to 30 students may participate in this exciting workshop.

Workshop
“Cha Cha Cha” - Learn the Latin Beat!

In this 60 minute workshop students will work and play with traditional percussion instruments of the Cha Cha Cha . Students will learn 5 rhythmical patterns and have an opportunity for a mini-presentation for other classmates.  There is a maximum of 20 students for this workshop.

Workshop
How About Some Samba!

This 60 minute workshop teaches students the history of Samba music. Students will learn 5 rhythmical patterns of samba music and then it's Carnival Time" and everyone will jam to samba. There is a maximum of 20 students for this workshop.
