Dear Community Members,

Arts education has a bright future in Colorado. On behalf of the staff and board of Young Audiences of Colorado, we are pleased to announce our merger with the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education, effective January 1, 2007. As a unified organization, we can strengthen our capacity and commitment to ensuring every Colorado child receives a complete education through the arts.

Expect more of the same. Together, we bring more than 70 years of experience in serving Colorado teachers, students and communities through professional development, direct services to classrooms and community education.  As we combine our resources, you can expect the same great staff to provide the same high-quality programs. Our rich history and experience in the field will inform our efforts as we push the definition of a complete education into the 21st century.

Expect something different. Growing evidence linking the arts to a quality education and increased demand for our services created the need for change. The merger of YA with CAAE allows us to blend complementary programs and unique staff capabilities to expand our reach and diversify our programs and services. Our strategy is based in an entrepreneurial approach, designed to create a robust organization that maximizes the community’s investment and produces sustainable programs. We approach our commitment to educating the whole child with renewed energy, refreshed strategy and greater impact.

We look forward to introducing our new name and identity this spring and inviting the community to take a closer look at our vision for arts education in Colorado. Please contact us with any questions about our current events and programs, or our bright future.

Sincerely,

Angela Norlander
