Denver, CO- October 1-7, 2009 - In 2008, Governor Bill Ritter proclaimed the first week of October as Kids Photography Week on behalf of Working with Artists. This second annual event offers youth, ages 5-18, an exciting educational opportunity to participate in a photographic scavenger hunt.
Daily events will take place at various locations throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area, including the Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens, DAVA and more. This program is provided at no cost and each location will also be providing free admission to all participants involved.

Promising young photographers are welcome to bring their own camera, or use one of WWA's, to create images that represent ten words given to them. This years Scavenger Hunt theme is "The West," and the ten words
are: Dry, Open, Hard, Triangle, Wild, Horizon, Big, Explore, Blue, West.
Instructors are provided by WWA and are experienced art educators, focused in creating a unique photographic experience. Additionally, area art teachers are encouraged to hold their own Kids Photo Week events with the same scavenger hunt words. Teachers who are interested can email us at kids@workingwithartists.org to receive the suggested curriculum for the program.

At the end of the event, WWA will compile and post scavenger hunt photos submitted to our Flickr.com webpage. Participating youth will be able to view and compare images made at each location by using this site.
