Rob is one of the top male fiber artists in the country. Rob’s work has been exhibited in several fiber art shows which he finds gratifying both because of the variety of artists from across the county represented in these shows and because of the positive response he receives from judges and visitors. A recipient of the Visual Arts Fellowship from Colorado in 1998, Mr. Watt has exhibited his work at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and in the corporate collections of Sprint, Kaiser Permanente, and US West. Mr. Watt received a B.A. from Colorado College and a B.F.A. from Colorado State University. It was at C.S.U. that he stumbled into a Fibers class taught by Tom Lundberg. Lundberg’s enthusiasm and skill as a teacher brought Rob into the world of fiber art. Having previously worked in pen, ink and watercolor, he now thinks of his work as drawing and painting with thread. He especially enjoys landscapes and a great deal of his work is oriented in that direction.
