Japanese Strings and Culture
This program weaves together music of the Koto, Base Koto, and Shamisen, storytelling and the showing of the traditional Kimono, transporting students to an exciting and different world. A dancer and/or flutist can be included in this program upon request.
Single Performance: $340
Double Performance: $540
Additional Fee: The addition of a dancer or flutist is $100 each per show

Single Workshop Experience

Let's Play Koto
In this workshop, musician Junko Shigeta offers students an opportunity to play the koto, keyboard, rainstick and drum, creating both traditional music and music composed by students. They will learn how to read koto music, sing in Japanese, and play the koto. Upon request, the traditional Japanese kimono can also be shown.
