Educational Performances
Artist in Residence
The recipient of the Governor’s Award, the Mayor’s Award for Excellence, numerous awards from the Colorado Council on the Arts, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, Hispanic Cultures of the Southwest and the Rocky Mountain News, Jeannette Trujillo-Lucero is the Founder and Artistic Director of Fiesta Colorado Inc. and the Ballet Folklorico de Colorado. Jeannette owned and directed the Danzantes Dance Studio for over 25 years. Her collaborations include work with the Colorado Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, International Mariachi Festival, and the Fiestas de Santa Fe, among many others. She has been the choreographer for the Colorado Children’s Chorale, Arvada Center, Denver Public High Schools and Up with the People. Jeanette has received special recognition from the CCA, SCFD, Hispanic Cultures of the Southwest, Rocky Mountain News and was the honored recipient of the Governor’s Award and the 1997 Mayors Award for Excellence. Jeannette has done numerous educational outreach programs, Artist-In-Residence Programs and summer intensive workshops with the Colorado Ballet, David Taylor Dance, Colorado Folklife Festival, Colorado Showcase, CCA, Community Resources and the DPS Educational Television program. Through a hands-on, eyes-on approach, Jeanette leads Artist-In-Residence programs that lead students to create, communicate and problem solve through dance and choreography. Jeannette’s work focuses on the role of dance in the histories of multiple cultures.
Dances of Mexico
Artistic Director of Fiesta Colorado, Jeanette Trujillo captivates students and teachers through an interactive exploration of the Hispanic cultures that have influenced the Southwest. The diverse cultural richness of Spain, Mexico and Central America comes alive through dance programs that are customized to meet the needs of specific classes and age groups. For an additional fee, two to six traditional dancers from Fiesta Colorado may be added to enrich the program.
Single Performance: $450
Double Performance: $575
Additional fees: $100 for all performances outside metro Denver

Spanish Dance and Flamenco Music
Jeanette Trujillo and Flamenco Guitarist, Steve Mullins, share the uniqueness of the Hispanic culture and history with students through demonstrations, lecture and dance using feet, hands and fingers. Students are riveted as Jeanette shows how Flamenco dance and music work together to create beauty and poetry out of movement. This program is tailored to be age appropriate.
