Artist in Residence
Elisabeth Hyde is the author of four novels including the Abortionist's Daughter (Knopf) and Crazy As Chocolate (MacAdam/Cage). Since joining Think 360 Arts/Young Audiences in 1999, Elisabeth has worked throughout the state with students of all ages, leading workshops that focus on character development, point of view, descriptive detail, and dialogue. In 2000, 2001 and 2005 she taught at the Aesthetic Education Institute of Colorado; she has also taught creative writing at Naropa University in Boulder. After earning her law degree in 1979, she attended the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference for several summers on working scholarships, which prompted her to abandon her law practice for the security of writing novels. Elisabeth has just finished her fourth novel. She lives in Boulder with her family and is currently at work on her fifth novel, to be published in 2008 by Knopf.
