Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: The Man and His Speeches
Experience the tumultuous Civil Rights Movement through the dramatic portrayals of two speeches of one of America's greatest orators and leaders. The speeches, I Have a Dream and I See the Promised Land, performed by actor, Dwayne Carrington, will inspire students and adults. Mr. Carrington also gives insight into Dr. King's life and how growing up in segregated South set a path for this American icon.
Single Performance: $450 $475
Double Performance: $700 $745
Grade Levels: 3rd-12th

Single Workshop Experience

I Have a Dream
Mr. Carrington will speak to students about the concept of civil rights and how it affects us in today's times. He will conduct an exercise in which the students engage in a mock segregated situation and explore how people react. At the end of this workshop, students are encouraged to talk about the experience and, perhaps, gain a greater understanding of the importance of civil rights.
Fee: $65 when booked with a performance $70
